Up and at 'em… well not really. A casual start as we are only an hour from our next destination, the BLM lands at Plomosa. With this in mind, we prepped the RV for our upcoming boon docking adventure. This consisted of filling the fresh water tank to max and dumping all the grey that we have accumulated at River Island State Park.
While Kelly was prepping, I took a short walk out the the point and caught some nice shots of the area. I also found a tunnel entrance but it ended about 15 feet in… nothing to see here.

Panoramic view. |
After hooking up the truck we had a quick stop at the dump station then pulled out at 10:45 am. We had an uneventful 55 minute drive down to the Plomosa BLM site and shortly thereafter had the rig positioned in amongst the vegetation of a wash. Normally during wet periods one would not want to park here as this will turn into a river in minutes. In our case, there is no rain forecast until well into next week. We are safe!

The truck has lots of towing power.... another one bites the dust! |
It’s a great spot and we were both excited to get set up. I took my time and sorted out a bunch of boxes and got things squared away. I also took the time to plan my RC plane carrying with a hitch and box in the way. A little work and I now got it all set.
The wings will go in the cab and the fuse will bungee to the hitch so it can’t go flying out the back! It should work. Hope to fly maybe on Saturday? Not sure?
The winds came up a bit and I pulled out my kite from the trip to Argentina in 2007. It has not flown since so it was a refreshing change to see it back in the sky. Unfortunately the winds died off and my running days are long over :-)

This is a lot of fun! |
We watched the sun set and enjoyed the amazing colors of the sky. We then cooked up a nice BBQ steak with baked potato, asparagus, and corn for dinner. Very good.

What a beautiful truck! |

Our campsite in the desert. |
Some blogging and an early night for us on the desert. There is a quilting show in Quartzsite so Kelly has her sights on that. I am going to check out dish antennas for something to do :-)
