Day 28 - Contest Day

Some rain fell through the night but nothing compared to the previous 12 hours. After our rain out yesterday, we all prepared for a four round contest today at the Superstition Air Park.

I got the coffee going as I started to assemble my plane outside.  The weather was much better with broken cloud and light winds. We got the contest started following the pilots meeting and although the numbers were down due to the weather, we all enjoyed the days flying.

I managed a third place in FAI (Silver) which flies the P-21 schedule only. It was just nice to be out flying at this time of year.

Kelly took a quick trip into town while I flew and judged. Once the awards were completed, we headed over to the Lost Dutchman State Park. We had snagged a serviced site yesterday so it was a bonus for us. It was just a short 12 minute drive east of our location. We checked in with the park folks and set up in the slowly fading light. We will get more pics over the next few days.
Great views!

Sunset.
BBQ Burgers were on tonight's menu. I then beat Kelly in a game of crib before heading inside as the temperature cooled down. We watched some hockey and finished up today's blog.
