I got up first and hit the shower. With our visitors, it will be the most “in demand” place over the next few days! Kelly prepped the coffee and sent me out the door with a fresh mug. I headed over to the main buildings to the Library. It has a nice comfy chair that allowed me to relax and hook up with the screaming fast wi-fi they have in this area. I managed to update all my devices with both security and app updates. (I don’t want to use my data plan for those tasks!)
We had loose plan of stopping at Hobby Lobby, a visit a Wild West Town and a drive to the dam but we found out that Hwy 88 was closed due to a wash out so that was out. Kyle has still not heard from lost & found on his jacket.
Kelly and I walked out to the RC field and met some guys flying. They gave me the low down on operations and invited me to fly. With family in town, I said I would wait until mid week before joining them. They also gave us a few tips on places to go etc.
We headed off into town and dropped the gals off at the Power Street Target Store to shop (there is a huge mall next door as well) while Kyle and I headed back out to the airport to check with Lost & Found.
I dropped him off at Terminal 3 and headed to the cell phone area which by the way, I am getting to know pretty well at this point!!
He eventually talk with a police officer and made an inquiry into a possible video search. (Everyone is on CCTV all the time at major airports) The officer said he would do his best but didn’t promise anything as it could be time consuming. Kyle gave him the time, place and description of the jacket and then left.
I grabbed him and we headed back to meet up with the gals at the Mall. Food was high on our priority list by now but there were huge lineups at the Cheesecake Factory… bummer. We headed back towards the RV and found a nice Mexican place called De La Cruz Mexican Grille just off the Superstition Highway. It was very good with entree’s going for 7 to 8 bucks each! We will be back I suspect.
Kyle received a phone call from the officer at the airport and he had found the jacket after reviewing the CCTV video. It had fallen off his bag and was turned into a United counter where the officer went and retrieved it. Kyle’s mood swung dramatically :-)
Due to the holiday on Monday and Lost & Found closed on weekends, we dropped the gals off at the RV and headed back to the airport…. again. Traffic was light going into town so we made relatively good time on the retrieval mission. I am now a certified PHX airport specialist!!
Back at the Arizonian RV Park, Lauren and Kelly found the quilting rooms and got equated with some of the local folks. They also went for a swim in the pool. All very nice facilities!
We broke out the fire pit and had some cocktails around the flames. It was all very relaxing in the fading light. We had some appetizers for a late snack and then watch a bit of TV before turning in.
