Day 20 - Tourism, Shopping and Hockey

The usual these days... showered and out the door to get the blog done. Just ran out of steam last night.

Kyle came over and joined me at the library & got some work done while I finished up yesterday’s blog.  Once back at the RV, we prepped for a long day ahead as it’s Hockey Night in Arizona!

We had a quick breakfast of egg sandwiches and then headed into town. A quick fuel stop as the truck was parched from yesterday’s “shuttle” work. Thanks for the fill Kyle!!

We headed to Old Town Scottsdale and after securing safe parking, we spent the afternoon wandering the many small shops in the area. We even watched a cowboy comic doing rope and whip tricks in the courtyard and another singing on horseback.   Some gelato to keep us cool didn’t hurt either.

We made it!

We got a few geocaches in the area and then wandered over to the canal and the main shops.

Great spot!

Entrance to Fashion Square and the "Passing the Legacy Bronze" Sculpture with a geocache as expected!

We decided to work our way west towards the arena area and stopped in at the Vig Arcadia. It’s a nice stop for grub & pint.
The Vig.
After a great early dinner, we headed to the Tanger outlet mall at Gila River. It was pretty easy to get there via hwy 202 and then the 101 north.

We split up as Kelly has her favs to go to. I took a park bench and got the blog going.

After shopping was complete, we rendezvoused at the truck to put parcels away. We then wandered towards the Arena area as there was lots of pregame activity. A stop for a beverage was in order as well. The Yard for beverages... and what a choice of IPA’s!!!

A toast to Kris for the hockey tickets!!
Wow!
Photo op!
The arena gates opened at 18:30 so in we went to watch the pregame warm.  The Arizona Coyotes take on the Washington Capitols tonight and we thank Kris for the awesome Christmas present 🎁
Warm up.

Crowd is into it!
Lets go!
The game was very good with lots of action down at our end. The Coyotes ended up winning a tight game with a 3-1 score (empty net).  We walked back to the truck and quickly left the arena area and onto the highway home. A relaxed 55 minute drive across town in light traffic.

Home shortly before 12 and then off to the rack, exhausted and happy.
